Quality, fine dining in a tropical setting. Elegant outdoor dining with a degustation menu on offer, plus an extensive a la carte menu offering local local produce including seafood, great steaks and vegetarian options. Licensed and open seven days a week, apart from the wet season (January-March) when it is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The Inlet Restaurant

Has superb views over Dicksons Inlet and superb food to satisfy every taste. Famous for mud crab - live from the tank - and pickled crocodile, this is a great tropical dining experience. Try a bucket of prawns with a glass of chardonnay or a cold beer. Great prices, licensed and open seven days a week.

The Salsa Bar and Grill

A Port Douglas institution, having won countless awards. Former US President Bill Clinton loved the place, and you will too. Open seven days a week and fully licensed the menu is reasonably priced with some great tastes in a mud crab and celeriac remoulade, salsa jambalaya, tuna, barramundi, steaks, gnocci and a refreshing chilled lemongrass coconut soup.

Tropical Australian cuisine with an authentic Aboriginal flavour. The restaurant overlooks a fresh water lagoon at Mossman, with damper and Australian dukkah, local smoked crocodile, yabbies (freshwater crayfish) from the nearby tablelands, kangaroo and Kudi - the local name for barramundi.  Great flavours and a wonderful indigenous experience. Part of the award winning Daintree Eco Lodge and Spa, licensed and open seven days a week.

The Treehouse in Mossman

An outdoor tropical delight right in the rain forest. Situated at the Silky Oaks Spa, the menu features local produce at its best, complemented with a great wine list. Beef, seafood, chicken and vegetarian options with a modern contemporary twist at good prices. Licensed and open seven days a week.

La Cucina
Macrossan St, Port Douglas. (07) 4031 9019
 is Asian-Italian - and it works. Licensed and open seven days a week, the classy little restaurant offers home baked ciabatta and mud crab in a chilli sauce. Great pasta dishes and seafood, as well as chargrilled barramundi. A top spot to sit and people watch.

Where you can choose your dinner from an array of locally caught seafood. Coral trout, barramundi or mud crab in a red curry sauce. Open seven days and licensed, the idea of creating your own dinner at the restaurant has become popular with locals and tourists alike.

The Livingroom

A relatively new dining experience but offers an outdoor setting with a modern Aussie menu. Seafood, as you would expect, is predominant, with Singapore chilli Moreton Bay bugs a house special. Licensed with one other best wine lists in town, and open seven days a week with a Latin feel and tapas on Sundays.

The Tin Shed

Has undergone a major refurbishment over the past couple of years, but is still one of the best value places to eat in Port Douglas. Open seven days a week and fully licensed, the open  covered deck overlooks Dickson Inlet and is a top spot to eat and relax after a day out on the reef. Seafood and meat dishes to temp all palates.

Billy’s by the Sea

Strong Mediterranean flavours, reforming from the ashes of the former Zeus Restaurant. Offering home made breads, olive oil dips and Greek cuisine to die for, the affordable prices offer a great dining experience. Open seven days a week and fully licensed.
